The Galaxy S25 is just around the corner, and it looks like a fan edition release may not be far behind

Samsung has endeavored to release a fan edition (called an FE version) of its flagship model every year since missing the S22 FE in 2022; a recent report from The Elec suggests that Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S25 FE and thus the same is likely to be true for 2025 However, according to this article, Samsung may be planning to release this phone as a slim model

According to the report, the Galaxy S25 FE's screen size will be 67 inches, the same as the recently released Galaxy S24 FE However, it appears that Samsung plans to use a thinner but wider battery to make the phone slimmer The Galaxy S24 FE was about 88 mm thick, so the difference will not be huge, but it will still be noticeable

Not much else is known about the phone, including specs, but a recent report from GSM Arena suggests that the S25 FE could feature a Dimensity chip, possibly the Dimensity 9400 However, if Samsung aims to make it cheaper, the phone could be equipped with an Exynos 2500, which Samsung was rumored to be dropping for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ideally, the Dimensity chip would provide more power and could even outperform Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip, but would likely drive up the price of the phone

Taking the Galaxy S24 FE as an example, one can get a vague idea of what to expect from the new phone For example, the S24 FE had a very similar camera layout to the Galaxy S24, with a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide and 8MP telephoto lens (3x optical zoom) Therefore, we can expect the S25 FE to have a similar camera layout to the Galaxy S25, which is rumored to be very similar to the Galaxy S24, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have some major upgrades
