Alternatively, see our NYT Connections How to Play Guide for tips on how to solve the puzzle without our help

While today's wordle solution guide recommends the best wordle starting words as a strategy, Connections' solution depends on identifying the categories that are connected from the 16 words The difficulty of each category is represented by a color, with yellow being the easiest grouping and purple the most difficult Hints are helpful as the answer is displayed after four wrong guesses

If you need a hint to help you solve the groupings, here are each theme in order of difficulty:

Here's the big clue: Jurassic Park Then explore the shades of purple and remember your inner Scrooge McDuck before you end up with a nugget of wisdom

Now, what's the answer to today's game #458 Connection?

Drum roll please

For several days in a row, we have had puzzles with a difficulty of 33, but today we go all the way to 43 Is that the right difficulty level?

Well

Many of today's puzzles are based on idioms and slang, which can be difficult if you don't know or have never heard of them Personally, I found it easier today than yesterday

First, in the yellow category, there were slang words for large sums of money, such as bundle, fortune, mint, and pile

In the purple category, it is appropriate that there are many purple-colored items, such as amethyst, eggplant, grimace (of McDonald's fame), and lavender

When I was putting together the purple category, I saw the relevance of blue and decided to keep it for myself That means digging up green for nuggets, pearls, kernels, and bits of wisdom

Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies, so it's fitting to end the day with amber, dinosaurs, mosquitoes, and paleontologists

The question for today's answer is whether you have enough common sense to make this puzzle the most difficult of the week

Are you reading this late in the day? According to Connections Companion, the difficulty was 33 out of 5

The strange sequence of grids of exactly the same difficulty continues in today's puzzle

Today's puzzle began with a transfer of the green categories of delivery, give, hand, and pass I was a bit confused as to whether to choose yellow or yellow, since yellow was next in type, sort, stripe, and type I saw green first, but you might see yellow

From there, I stumbled a bit until I read A-F as A to F Furthermore, even at this age, there are still kids in school who get stars for homework Percentages and thumbs were quickly figured out from there

Purple was filled in last, as was checkers, decks of cards, monarchy, and NHL with Kings Fun category I always wish I had found the fun ones earlier
