As a huge Stephen King fan, I have been waiting a long time for a remake of Salem's Lot since it was first announced in 2019 While the theatrical release, originally scheduled for September 2022, was repeatedly postponed, my anticipation for the film only grew Now, the trailer for this long-awaited dark thriller has finally been released, and it looks like the wait was worth it
“Salem's Lot” follows writer Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) as he returns to his childhood home, Jerusalem Lot, in search of inspiration for his next novel But he soon discovers that the inhabitants have been turned into bloodthirsty vampires The film “Nosferatu” will also be released later this year, clearly entering the vampire season
But it's clear from the first glance at the trailer that “Salem's Lot” will excite fans of King's chilling tale The long-awaited theatrical release to a new home at the Max only heightens my excitement, and I can't wait to see the vampires in action Trailers are below:
I can now officially say that “Salem's Lot” is my most anticipated film for the rest of 2024, and this alone proves that trailers can be very effective It unmistakably carries Stephen King's signature style: a small fictional town in Maine, deadly creatures, and characters who have no idea what they are getting themselves into
The trailer is full of chilling shots that don't say much but are nonetheless unsettling For example, a young boy, played by Nicholas Crovetti, is wandering aimlessly through the foggy night when he hears some strange noises Then he appears later in the trailer, this time a vampire Clearly, “Salem's Lot” is not going to hold back when it comes to terrifying transformations
But what I like most about this trailer is that it gives enough warning to pique interest without saying much The brief glimpse of the vampire is incredibly haunting, and I already know that this film will probably give me a nightmare or two
Yes, this trailer is everything I hoped it would be and more I eagerly await the day “Salem's Lot” opens in Max on October 3 In the UK, you can see it in theaters on October 11
Can't wait? Watch the darkest thriller of all time on Max Also see the Netflix movie worth watching now
