Bose's new Smart Soundbar features AI interactive mode and personal surround sound

Bose has announced new products that upgrade its existing line with new features and sleek designs

The first product is the new Bose Smart Soundbar, which replaces the SmartSoundbar 600 This compact soundbar has several intriguing new features

The first is AI Dialogue Mode, which debuted on the Smart Ultra Soundbar and will be available in fall 2023 This feature boosts and clarifies dialogue, especially in sounds with too strong background effects; the AI portion is used to automatically adjust the soundbar's “real-time tone balance when speech is detected”

Smart Ultra Soundbar Review The Smart Ultra soundbar reviews were mixed on this feature

“It seems to overcompensate for studio news broadcast audio, making it sound hard and forced However, when the dialog was really difficult to decipher, the clarity and intelligibility of the voices really improved For example, while watching “God's Creatures,” this mode was able to cut through the intense accents and muffled voices of the intense movie, making it clearer and much easier to hear

Hopefully Bose will improve this feature

Another great feature is Bose Personal Surround Sound This pairs the soundbar with Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for an “added dimension” Essentially, the earbuds can function as personal rear surround speakers while “listening to powerful audio” from the soundbar This should provide an omnidirectional sound experience

The Smart soundbar features Dolby Atmos, which is adjusted for Atmos encoding combined with Bose's digital signal processing and the soundbar's five transducers

According to Bose, it is compatible with Roku TV, but can be accessed via Wi-Fi for streaming music services like Spotify, which should work with most TVs It can also connect to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for voice control

The new Bose Smart Soundbar is available on the Bose website for $499

The Bose QuietComfort earbuds are the best noise-canceling earbuds we've tried, and the Ultra version is even better

Today, Bose is launching a redesigned version of the QuietComfort earbuds

The new version features three microphones in each earbud which means “optimal cancellation and voice pickup”

According to Bose, they are IPX4 water and sweat resistant for workout use Three different ear tip and stability band sizes are available to customize the fit

Bose claims that the buds offer up to 85 hours of playback time on a single charge A wireless charging case is included, and the company claims it can be recharged 25 times, taking 15 hours to fully charge and 20 minutes to charge an additional 3 hours

As for ANC, it can be toggled between Quiet and Aware or switched off for a “passive listening experience” This can be controlled via the Bose QC earbuds app, which includes EQ controls, or via controls on the earphones themselves

The latest version of the QC Earbuds is now available in black, white smoke, and chilled lilac for $179
