HTC Reveals $1,000 Vive Focus Vision - Here's What You Can Do With This Mixed Reality Headset

HTC has announced its next standalone mixed reality headset called the Vive Focus Vision This $1,000 headset appears to be targeted at a mix of corporate and consumer buyers looking for high-end mixed reality hardware, similar to the mix between the Vive Focus 3 and the Vive Elite XR headsets

The Vive Focus Vision does not revolutionize MR headsets in any of its specs They are similar to those offered in the Vive Focus 3, which was introduced in 2021 for business users; it is so similar to that model that you can even use Vive Focus 3 accessories

We can find Fresnel optics with dual LCDs with 2,448 x 2,448 resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate, which is essentially the same display as the 2021 headset The headset has a 120-degree horizontal viewing angle and 57-72 mm IPD optical adjustment

Dual color cameras and depth sensors provide color pass-through for mixed reality Other cool features include four front-facing tracking cameras and an infrared floodlight for easy hand tracking Also included is a Vive Focus 3 controller

Speaking of tracking, eye tracking is built in so it can track what you are looking at and adjust accordingly

HTC has included the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chipset found in the Vive XR Elite, with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage

It is a mixed reality headset, but offers full VR capabilities with PC VR games played through Steam and the company's Viveport

The new headset can be pre-ordered today and will be available until October 17 After that, the headset is expected to be available for those who have dropped their pre-orders However, HTC would like to get at least a few of them on the market

Pre-orders will get a free Vive Wired Streaming Kit, which includes a DisplayPort compatible streaming cable and converter This is a nice bonus since it normally sells for $150
