Sonos may be bogged down by app glitches, but a new soundbar may be on the way: the Sonos Arc Ultra, speculated to be a follow-up to the always popular and excellent Sonos Arc soundbar, is now available at a price and under the ubiquitous grille, and what kind of There have been leaks that tell us what technology will be included under the ubiquitous grille
The leak from Reddit is a store image from the Sonos website The image includes pricing, a product photo of the soundbar, and a short blurb about what we can expect from Sonos' next generation of under-TV speakers Apparently, this image appeared on the Sonos website and then quickly disappeared [The Sonos Arc Ultra is priced at $1,199 That's $200 more than the $999 full price of the previous generation and puts it firmly in the premium soundbar category But what benefits does it offer?
There isn't much to read from the short blurb, but there are a few exciting bits to point out: first, “Enhanced with immersive Sound Motion technology,” This is probably the new name for the HeartMotion technology that Sonos acquired when it acquired Mayht What does this technology do? Smaller, lighter drivers require less power to drive than other drivers, allowing more drivers to be mounted in the same space with fewer other drivers
The second sentence worth noting is the last one, “And did someone say ‘Bluetooth’? It is well known that the first generation Sonos Arc did not support the Bluetooth audio standard, so music could not be sent without using AirPlay or the Sonos app Now it seems to support Bluetooth, so all the friends at the party can send tunes to the soundbar, for better or worse
No word yet on when the Sonos Arc Ultra will be available When it is released, we expect it to be among the best soundbars available As always, this is just a rumor, but from our sources it seems legitimate
