With “Yellowstone” Season 5 Part 2 just a few months away, there was hope that this would not be the end for the Dutton family on Paramount Network's hit show “Yellowstone” Unfortunately, an interview with one of the show's stars has ended hopes for a “Yellowstone” Season 6
In an interview with Us Weekly, Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, the Dutton family's matriarch, essentially admitted that “Yellowstone” is now over Promoting the launch of his own coffee company, Free Rein, at Wal-Mart, he was asked to reflect on his last day on the set of Season 5 Part 2, to which he replied, “It was a great trip with everyone involved”
Of course, just because it was a great trip doesn't mean it won't be a great trip in the future But when Hauser said, “Stay tuned in November to see how Taylor (Sheridan) closes out!”
He was almost certain that these episodes would be the last of the show when he said, “I'm not sure how we're going to end it
This will no doubt be sad news for some “Yellowstone” fans, as Variety reported in late August that Hauser and co-star Kelly Reilly, who plays his wife Beth Dutton, had negotiated a surprise appearance in season 6 However, it appears that any such talks were cut short in the first place, as Hauser is now turning his attention to his next project, with or without the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan
While it seems almost certain that the Dutton family's time on “Yellowstone” will come to an end in Season 5--leading actor Kevin Costner will not return for this final episode as family patriarch John Dutton--the family's involvement in the Sheridanverse will not end It is not
There have already been several spinoffs of the show involving this fictional family A new season of the prequel series “1923” is currently being planned, and further spinoffs “1944” (another prequel) and “6666” (set at the nearby 6666 Ranch) have been announced
A possible sequel called “The Madison” is also in the works Several cast members have already been cast, including Matthew Fox, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Patrick J Adams The show is set in the same world as “Yellowstone,” but it is unknown if the Dutton family will appear
Finally, there is the rumored “2024” This show is planned as a sequel to “Yellowstone,” with Matthew McConaughey continuing the series as the new lead character However, no official casting announcement has been made, and it is possible that “2024” has been replaced by “The Madison”
