The launch of the AirPods 4 has made the AirPods 3 yesterday's news And now, AirPods 4 is available for pre-order, and retailers are dropping prices on older models to clear out inventory There's just one problem: the price hasn't dropped enough to make the AirPods 3 worth picking up at a bargain price
The price drop on the AirPods 3 has brought them down to the same price you could get the Airpods 4 without ANC
So,
for $129, you can either get a 3 year old model that still has the Lightning charging port, or you can wait a bit but get great new features for the same price Here's what I would do
The AirPods4 have a completely refreshed feature set, making them the biggest update to the AirPods series in a while (and by extension, some of the best wireless earbuds we've tested) The new, more comfortable design shrinks both the buds and the case, making them the “smallest Airpods ever”; the H2 chip improves Spatial Audio support, and there is an ANC option for an additional $50
The only advantage over the older AirPods 3 is that the buds themselves have an extra hour of battery life (6 hours instead of 5), but it's still worth choosing the AirPods 4's superior features Above all, the new USB-C port on the bottom of the AirPods 4 is a change that makes life easier together and is worth waiting a little longer for
