Thunderbolts Trailer: MCU Adds Hero More Powerful Than Captain America

Marvel's “Thunderbolts” (sometimes spelled “Thunderbolts*”) is still months away However, the official trailer for the MCU film has finally been released

The trailer is a surprisingly long 3 minutes and 24 seconds, and the first two and a half minutes feature a lot of Florence Pugh, who reprises her role as Yelena Belova But Bob also makes an appearance, and although he is a new character in the MCU, he is a familiar face to some dedicated Marvel Comics fans

Bob (Lewis Pullman) appears around the 1:45 mark of the trailer He appears to have just gotten out of the hospital, barefoot and wearing blubbery scrubs that have seen better days

But Bob is no ordinary man He is a Marvel character secretly known as Sentry, a minor character in the comics, but one with great power In fact, he derives his powers from a variant of the super-soldier serum that empowered Captain America

Marvel has not officially announced that Pullman is a Sentry, but they are not hiding it in this trailer First, his name is Bob, which is also the name of Sentry's alter ego in the comics, Robert “Bob” Reynolds Also, at the 2:48 mark, a black and gold disk can be seen, which is reminiscent of the “S” on the Sentry in the comic

In the comic, Bob starts out middle-aged and overweight, but Lewis Pullman clearly does not The comic version of Bob is an omnipotent man of unlimited power, able to resist the Helicarrier, Thor, Galactus' emissary, and others He is also believed to be a powerful telepath, but this does not seem to be implied in the trailer

In addition to Pugh and Pullman, “Thunderbolts” brings back David Harbour as Yelena's father, Red Guardian, who can be seen reunited with his daughter at the beginning of the trailer

Also joining the group are Wyatt Russell as US Agent John Walker, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, in what could be described as Marvel's Suicide Squad Leading these familiar faces is Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, the most familiar face

All of these characters have “done bad things,” as Yelena herself admits, so there is no shortage of enemies In “Thunderbolt,” they will likely join forces to defeat just such an enemy - perhaps Julia Ruiz-Dreyfus, who will return as La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine

But she could also be the one to unite this team of Marvel misfits, so keep an eye on the upcoming trailer to see what to expect when “Thunderbolts” is released next May
