As with other significant technology announcements, there were some issues with the iPhone 16 model We saw the touchscreen freeze, which is a common problem with the iPhone 16 Pro Max Shortly after, we saw users complaining of the camera app crashing with the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera controls

In a post to Apple Community, user torrey145 started a thread about his iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB having problems with the camera app In the post, the user wrote, “When I activate the camera controls from the lock screen, the camera app crashes Screen goes black and crashes”

If it were just one person, there would be nothing to worry about But it seems to be happening to other users commenting on Apple Community And that is saying nothing to those who have not posted that there is something wrong with their devices

Some users say that forcing a reboot will temporarily fix the problem In response, another user said, “I am experiencing the same problem Rebooting only solves the problem temporarily I've been troubleshooting with Apple support for the past few days and have escalated the issue to their engineers Hopefully this will be fixed soon It's very annoying It seems to happen at the worst possible time”

These two are not the only ones User Svalk stated, “I had the same problem with my brand new iPhone 16 pro max”

Reports continue to pour in A similar complaint was posted in a thread this morning User Rwhitton9891 asked, “Is y'all's camera crashing after taking a picture with your [sic] 16 pro max?” I said Similar to the first thread, other users have responded with the same problem

At this point, however, these complaints are still well distributed and do not indicate that there is something defective with the phone It is probably a software issue that needs to be fixed We will need to monitor it and see if reports start popping up in more places We have contacted Apple with comments and will update this part if we hear back
