Google appears to be gradually rolling out the Google Lens search with video feature that was initially announced at the Google I/O event
Google has made significant improvements to Google Lens since its initial release in 2017 For example, the recently added generative artificial intelligence displays a complete AI-generated response to an uploaded image And Google Lens has been integrated into the very popular Circle to Search, which is also constantly adding new features And now, according to a recent post to X, the search feature with video is starting to roll out to Android devices
The post is by Mishaal Rahman via Android Authority, who states that he was able to get the new Search with Video feature working on his device Sadly, I could not get it to work on my Galaxy Z Fold 5 The videoed search is where users record a short clip in Google Lens, ask a question about the content, and Lens will provide search results based on that question If the user lives in an area that allows AI overlays, the answers are generated by AI
This feature is easy to find Users simply enter the Google Lens and press and hold the shutter button This gives the phone time to record a video and ask questions In theory, this should increase the average user's arsenal when trying to find answers to questions for which photos alone are not sufficient For example, one could ask for information about product defects that only occur when the car is running
The addition of video is not the only update Google has added to Google Lens Just recently we saw the implementation of voice-enabled search Interestingly, this feature can be accessed while holding down the shutter button, which may make searching with still images less likely Meanwhile, Apple fans need not despair, as Apple Intelligence promises to turn the iPhone 16's camera into a visual search engine
Google is constantly working to improve and integrate its features into some of the best Android phones, and it is always appreciated We would love to know if you have been able to enable this feature on your Android device
