Samsung's One UI 7 is announced along with the Galaxy S25 - and it looks like a big change

Samsung has finally revealed when we can try the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta No specific release date was announced, but they did state that you can try it “by the end of this year,” which is just around the corner

As noted by 9to5Google, the annual Samsung Developer Conference was the place to reveal the timeframe for the new OS, which has been in a seemingly fluid state since it was first announced It is good news to know it will be coming out in the coming months since it was at one time “independently” postponed

A final release is not expected until the Galaxy S25 device is available in early 2025 So patience is needed if one wants to play with the finished software

Here is what Samsung said in the newsroom:

“Samsung previewed a sneak peek of One UI 7 at SDC24, along with more ways to seamlessly integrate the Galaxy's AI capabilities into everyday activities, simple and impactful, Emphasizing the new UX's focus on emotional design, a beta version of One UI 7 is expected to be available to developers by the end of the year

So what will One UI 7 look like? According to our sister site Android Central, “One UI 7 is expected to be a massive, fresh redesign for the One UI interface on smartphones and tablets”

The next One UI version will reportedly focus on “keeping the user interface simple, creating a unique One UI atmosphere, and introducing new UI elements aimed at creating positive emotions for users”

It is important to note that the OS will be available “for developers” and not for regular end users Of course, one can download the developer beta and try out the new features, but it will not be ready for final release and will most likely not be enjoyed in daily driving

Samsung did not reveal a final list of devices on which the operating system could be tested Still, if previous betas are any indication, it will likely be available on most current flagships and some A-series phones

The OneUI 6 beta was offered on the S23, S22, and S21 series It was also included in the Z Fold 4 and 5 and Z Flip 4 and 5 On more affordable phones, the A54, A53, A34, F23, M23, and A52s were also able to try the beta; with the release of the S24, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6, the S21, Z Flip 4, and Z Fold 5 are expected to be out of the OneUI 7 beta, but that remains not known
