Many of the missing features of Apple Intelligence for iOS 18 revealed at WWDC and the most recent Apple event may appear before Christmas this year
Apple's release of Apple Intelligence is not without its problems, as many features have yet to appear With iOS 181 expected to be released later this month, we are starting to see some updates, but there are still plenty of features that customers will have to wait for
However, a recent report from 9to5mac suggests that this could change soon If Apple follows its usual trend of releasing a second update by the end of the year, iOS 182 could be released in December
The first of these is likely to be ChatGPT support for Siri, mainly because Apple CEO Tim Cook, when discussing the iPhone 16 rollout, said that ChatGPT integration will happen by the end of this year The iPhone 16 keynote also announced that Apple intelligence will finally be localized for additional English-speaking countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK
The next likely feature is the promised Genmoji and Image Playground, which were announced at Apple's WWDC presentation So far, Apple has been relatively silent on this feature, but Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that these image generation features will likely appear within iOS 182 A redesigned Mail app is also expected to appear, if only to counter Google's integration of Gemini into the iOS version of its Gmail app
Apple's keynote also announced several hearing health features for the AirPods Pro 2 These include a new hearing protection mode, which adds passive noise canceling features designed to protect the ears in loud environments Users can also expect new clinical-grade hearing aids, including user-tailored hearing profiles Also expected are mandatory browser selection screens in EU countries and support for robotic vacuum cleaners in the Home app
All of these features are great, but it should be noted that they will require a compatible iPhone with access to Apple Intelligence
