At this point, the DJI Air 3S has been mostly revealed through leaks and rumors, but that doesn't mean we can't be surprised by new discoveries regarding this mid-range drone
The latest leak, courtesy of JasperEllens on X (spotted by our friends at Tech Radar), reveals a new device called the DJI RC Track controller This controller appears to be able to track the Air 3S without the use of a standard drone controller
The remote control pictured in JasperEllens' tweet looks fairly simple, but the blurry image makes it hard to tell how many buttons the controller has, or if it is some sort of wheel control
Still, it is very attractive to the lone drone operator and would be an attractive addition to our list of best drones
Our leaker also released a spec sheet for the Air 3S that shows some modest upgrades, including a larger 1-inch sensor on the main camera while keeping the same 1/13-inch telephoto sensor
Internal storage is also larger, jumping from 8 GB in the Air 3 to 42 GB in the new 3S Low-light performance appears to have been improved by two upgrades, including a larger ISO range and new Lidar technology that improves obstacle detection in low light
Many other specs, including weight, flight time (about 45 minutes), and resolution, appear to be quite similar
The Air 3S will reportedly go on sale on October 23 Pricing for the new drone has not yet been determined, but the Air 3 starts at $1,099, with some bundles going over $1,300 A new tracking remote and other minor upgrades could make the drone similarly priced
