After three seasons, the official “ship” of Netflix's teen drama “The Outer Banks” - the fandom-approved TV relationship - appears to be solidified John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah Cameron (Madeline Klein), JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) and Chiara Carrera (Madison Bailey), and Pope Hayward (Jonathan Davis) and Cleo Anderson (Caracia Grant) will make their October 10 (Thursday), coupling for “Outer Banks” Season 4, which debuts on Netflix But the two young stars are rooting for an entirely different pair this season
In a recent interview with People, “OBX's” Madison Bailey joked that her character Kier's budding romance with fellow Pogue JJ “will be the death of my Chiara Gay agenda” (The 25-year-old actress publicly came out as gay in a TikTok video in May 2020)
In the same interview, Bailey's co-star Madeline Klein teased that the two “have an idea for Sarah and Chiara to avoid guys altogether and become each other's on-screen love interests” 'John B and JJ would make each other very happy And it won't be just the two of them Everything will be fine,” Bailey added
Klein quipped that she and Bailey are “throwing metaphorical spaghetti at the wall,” but the idea “hasn't taken hold” for series co-creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke Bailey, however, does not entirely rule out future explorations of Key's sexuality: “She's a little fluid She's a little fluid There will hopefully be more seasons to understand herself"
[8But at least in season 4, Chiara's romantic feelings are firmly focused on JJ, from friend to lover Bailey told People, “I think Kiara is probably in a place where she's more open to love, and JJ is still catching up with himself [He] doesn't know if he can make me happy and he's not sure about a lot of things and he's not sure about himself in a lot of ways, so I think Kiara is holding that back I think she's really patient I think she understands that and a lot of that is unspoken I think Chiara knows that he has a lot on his plate
As for the show's upcoming seasons, so far “The Outer Banks” has only been officially sanctioned for a fourth season, and like the popular Netflix series “Emily in Paris,” “Bridgerton,” and “Stranger Things,” the same popular Netflix series will be released in two parts release The first five episodes will be released on October 10, followed by the final episode on Thursday, November 7
No confirmation has been received from the cast or creators about the possibility of a fifth season of “OBX” picking up additional episodes Historically, such announcements have been closely tied to the premiere of each season, so we will keep our eyes and ears open next week
