According to Korean newspaper The Elec, Samsung announced last fall that it had delayed the introduction of its blue PHOLED TV technology until late 2025 This is in line with the UDC schedule and could bring this technology into homes as early as 2026

For this reason, most OLED displays mix the two types For example, the LG C4 OLED combines red and green PHOLEDs with blue fluorescent OLEDs QD-OLEDs, like the Samsung S95D, use only blue fluorescent OLEDs to produce red and green using quantum dots Each TV's approach to producing red, green, and blue is different, but in both cases blue has relatively little weight in the mix

With the incorporation of blue PHOLEDs, both of these TVs, especially QD-OLEDs, would be much more energy efficient; OLED TVs are cheaper to produce and likely to have a longer lifespan In addition, they may even offer brighter images In other words, everyone benefits
