Fortnite is one of the most popular video games of all time, but it has been missing from the iPhone for nearly four years (although it is playable in web browsers and in the cloud) This is due to a long legal battle between Apple and Epic Games over Apple's payment terms
Now, thanks to EU legislation allowing developers to launch third-party app stores on iOS, Epic Games has resumed its beloved battle royale game on Apple devices Unfortunately, this law only exists within the EU, so people outside the EU cannot download and play the game
Fortnite fans can download the game from two alternative app stores, the Epic Games Store and AltStore PAL It is just a matter of where to download the game
“We are really excited and grateful for the European DMA legislation,” said Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games, in a briefing with reporters
“Fortnite is finally coming back to iOS in Europe”
Oddly, despite the company's FAQ stating that the game can run on iOS 174 or later, the download link says, “To install the Epic Games Store on your iPhone, please update to iOS 176 or later”
