Samsung's version of Android 15 will not appear soon - what you need to know

Numerous reports from reliable leakers indicated that Samsung's One UI 7 Android 15 skin would be released in beta at the end of July or early August; July is already over and there is no indication that Samsung will release a beta anytime soon.

An X post from leaker Ice Universe claims that Samsung has no plans to launch a beta "in the near future." Another leaker, Chun Bhai, responds that it has been postponed indefinitely (h/t 9to5 Google).

What is unclear is whether the delay is related to Android 15 or if Samsung is struggling with its own One UI portion of the update.

Last week, it was leaked that the Pixel 9 phones to be announced on August 13 at the Made by Google event will not include Android 15. This is different from a normal Pixel release, which usually incorporates the next iteration of Android.

The fourth Android 15 beta was just released a few weeks ago, suggesting that a full Android 15 update could come at any time, but no specific release date was mentioned.

If Samsung is behind on One UI 7, it could be related to the One UI 6.1.1 update, whose rollout has been delayed. A full update may launch this month or sometime in September when the affordable Samsung A35 is released.

Normally, Samsung releases a version of Android in October, so there is time for things to change and Samsung could drop a beta release in September. But so far, things appear to be behind schedule.

At the same time, Ice Universe is a regular leaker for Samsung and they have been promoting One UI 7 for the Galaxy S25 for several weeks now. We imagine it should be ready in time for the January release of Samsung's flagship phone series, even if it does not launch in the usual timeframe.
