The Nectar memory foam mattress has long been the flagship model of award-winning sleep specialist Nectar. But now, Nectar has revamped its entire mattress series, renaming the original Nectar mattress the Nectar Classic. The new Nectar Classic name, but is there really any difference between these mattresses? Let's find out its secrets.

The updated Nectar Classic is still available at nearly the same price, and there are always promotions and discounts available. There is also a Labor Day mattress sale coming up, which should continue to offer discounts of around 40%.

Broadly speaking, the new mattresses are very similar to the originals, with a few small changes:

1. The Nectar Classic has a breathable poly blend cover with an anti-microbial finish.

2. The first layer of the Nectar Classic is made of improved therapeutic memory foam for pressure dispersion and responsive contouring. The first layer of the original mattress was gel-filled memory foam.

3. The Nectar Classic's layer of support foam is 8 inches long and is more isolated from movement when compared to the original's 7 inches.

4. The new Nectar Classic has a slightly different price structure. Most sizes are cheaper or the same as the original mattress, but the twin is more expensive.

The Nectar has seen its MSRP change, though we have seen it drop to $629 in the past, and the perks of a 365-night trial, lifetime warranty, and free shipping remain the same.

The biggest change between the new Classic mattress and the old Original mattress is the change in mattress design. Let's take a look at the differences between the two.

Both mattresses start with a breathable cover, but the new Nectar Classic has a poly blend cover with an antimicrobial finish. This fabric has excellent moisture absorption and breathability. Next in the new Nectar Classic is a 1-inch layer of therapeutic memory foam for pressure relief and responsive contouring, followed by a 3-inch dynamic response layer of support foam.

These layers provide firm support for the back and promote proper alignment of the spine. The primary support structure of the mattress is provided by 8 inches of conventional foam, and this layer also provides motion isolation. The mattress is finished with an undercover that prevents shifting and holds the mattress in place.

In contrast, the original mattresses had a slightly different design. The original mattress also had a polyethylene cooling cover, followed by a 2-inch layer of gel-filled memory foam for body contouring. It was followed by the same dynamic response layer as the new Classic mattress, and a slightly thinner 7-inch durable base layer with a bottom cover to prevent shifting.

We have not yet tested the new Nectar Classic - a review model has arrived for full testing - but the slightly different design provides the same level of comfort and support we have come to expect from the best-selling Nectar memory foam mattress along with suggesting that the mattress may offer improved temperature regulation and pressure relief.
