Top 10 Prime Video Movies - Here are 3 worth watching now

If you're looking for something new on Amazon Prime Video, this streamer's constantly published list of the Top 10 Most Watched Movies is a great starting point However, blindly choosing one of the current entries is not always advisable After all, just because a film ranks high on the Prime Video charts does not guarantee its quality

Case in point, "Tyler Perry's Divorce in Black," currently holding the #4 spot, has a rare score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes (yikes) So, I've picked three movies from Prime Video's top 10 that are actually worth watching, including a Tom Cruise action epic and a very funny (and very rude) comedy about a trio of pre-adolescent middle schoolers

My selections are based on the Prime Video Top 10 as of 8:30 am ET on Thursday, August 8: In "Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning," a frantic car chase through the streets of Rome and a motorcycle ride on the roof of the luxury train Orient Express The industry's last true movie star is once again giving it his all, including a breathtaking mountaintop stunt in which he jumps on the roof of the Orient Express luxury train Unfortunately, "The Guts of the Dead" falls a little short in the story department, but for pure popcorn entertainment, there is no franchise better than "Mission: Impossible": there is no franchise better than "Impossible

Released in theaters as "Dead Reckoning Part One," the "Part One" moniker was dropped from the home release This 2023 film leaves room for a planned sequel (due out in 2025), but still tells the complete story with a satisfying conclusion In Mission: Impossible/Dead Reckoning, super spy Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his team return to confront their most elusive foe to date, the rogue AI known only as the Entity Ethan will also face off against past villain Gabriel (Esai Morales), adding a personal stake to an already trying mission

It is inherently funny when a young child utters very rude words, and "Good Boys" is all over this immature gag There is nothing particularly clever about this bawdy comedy directed by Gene Stupnitsky, but as long as you are willing to enjoy a rather dumb movie about a trio of friends dealing with a situation far removed from their own age, you will have a blast with this film It is also worth noting that for all its potty-potty humor, "Good Boys" has a sweet core and a worthwhile message at the end

Max (Jacob Tremblay), Lucas (Keith L Williams), and Thor (Brady Noon) are clueless sixth-graders about to take their first steps into adulthood who are invited to a popular party Max is convinced that this will be the perfect place to have his first kiss with his middle school sweetheart There is just one problem - none of the boys know how to kiss properly Determined to solve this seemingly impossible task, the trio skips school and throws themselves into a madcap adventure involving broken drones and even illegal drugs

"Bob Marley": One Love" is a dramatic portrait of the life and career of Jamaican superstar Bob Marley Critics were not big fans of this cinematic retelling of his story, giving it an underwhelming score of 45% on Rotten Tomatoes Audiences, however, were not concerned with the generic story structure and found the film to be a perfect homage to the musical genius, giving it an enthusiastic rating of 92%

In "Bob Marley," Kingsley Ben-Adil plays the role of the great singer-songwriter known for his singalongs and infectious positive hits like "Three Little Birds" and the eponymous "One Love" Rather than chronicling Marley's entire life, this biopic follows him from his rise to fame in the mid-1970s to his tragic passing in 1981 at the young age of 36 Marley fans will undoubtedly enjoy this film to the fullest, but even those unfamiliar with his songs will enjoy this musical drama and appreciate its message of hope, optimism, and kindness to those around him
