Google Pixel 9 Pro XL full specs and price leaked just before Made by Google event

The Made by Google event on August 13 is just a few days away. But ahead of that, leaked images and detailed specs of several unannounced models, as well as a more detailed price for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, have been released.

The leaks come courtesy of leaker @MysteryLupin, who shares all the new juicy tidbits about the new Pixels on X. Price rumors have been swirling around the new models, with previous reports hinting at a whopping $1,199 for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. But @MysteryLupin claims it will be $1,099 instead, which could be the 128GB version.

Either way, these prices indicate that it will be more expensive than last year's Pixel 8 Pro. This new claim means that it will cost more to get a phone of the same size. Nevertheless, it is likely that a lower-priced Pixel 9 Pro will accompany the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

The only downside to this new claim is that it takes away from what Google's Pixel phones have been demanded by enthusiasts ever since the series fell below rivals Apple and Samsung in terms of price.

Apart from the leaked prices ahead of Google's event, @MysteryLupin dialed in the phone's specs and reconfirmed what has been circulating over the last month or so. For example, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with 3,000 nits peak brightness, a Tensor G4 chip, Titan M2 security co-processor, 16GB of RAM, and 128GB to 1TB of storage.

The camera system also consists of a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide, a 48MP telephoto (5x optical zoom), and a 42MP selfie camera. The claims regarding the ultrawide and selfie camera are largely consistent with previous reports, but the other interesting claim is that it will run Android 14 instead of Android 15.

If these specs and pricing details are not enough, @MysteryLupin has also released a hands-on photo of the Pixel 9 Pro, and just one photo of the Pixel 9 Pro XL. They reveal design changes that have already been leaked several times, including a new camera rubber arrangement on the back and what appears to be a flatter edge instead of the contoured design of the current Pixel 8 Pro.

This will be an opportunity for Google to set the tone for the busy holiday season, especially with the iPhone 16 also just around the corner.
