Thankfully, Hargreaves Children doesn't have much in common with The Seven. Well, except that they were basically separated from their original families and trained to hone their psychic abilities to help rich people with dubious intentions.

But they identify more with "The Boys," a band of heroes. They are a family brought together to save the world. While there is certainly more cursing, sex, violence, and gore in the Prime Video superhero shows than in "Umbrella Academy," both shows are definitely for adults, and fans of one will almost certainly like the other. As a fan of both franchises' comics and TV shows, you should also hear my opinion.

"Umbrella Academy" meets Xavier's School for Gifted Children.

There are many parallels between the Hargreaves children and the X-Men of "X-Men '97." Both groups are composed of superheroes who seek to control powers that others deem frightening. Both groups are led by eccentric billionaires who adopt them as their own, but in the case of "Umbrella Academy," the adoption is literal; in the case of "X-MEN '97," the eccentric billionaire has disappeared and is presumed dead. And both shows deal repeatedly with saving the world from utter ruin. [Neither is afraid to deal with difficult identity issues, including being a member of the LGBTQ+ community. If you're a fan of "Umbrella Academy," this adaptation of the comic book should definitely be on your viewing list.

Both "Loki" and "Umbrella Academy" are comic book adaptations, but they are also about time travel and the multiverse. In "Umbrella Academy," the characters are scattered in the 1960s and arrive in an alternate timeline after saving the universe by ensuring the assassination of JFK.

In "Loki," there is no JFK, but there is plenty of killing in the name of saving the universe. In this Marvel show, Loki, the iconic villain-turned-hero (played by Tom Hiddleston), teams up with the Time Varying Bureau to stop a variant of Loki from destroying the sacred timeline. Whether Loki succeeds or not remains to be seen, but even if time travel were possible, I doubt we'd know what to expect from this Marvel show.

"Resident Alien" tells the story of Dr. Harry Vanderspiegel (Alan Tudyk). Dr. Vanderspiegel may seem like an ordinary doctor living in a small Colorado town, but he is not. He is an alien who crash landed in this small town, and as he is pulled further and further away to help the town, he runs into a small problem.

While not as directly comparable to "Umbrella Academy" as the comic book adaptations on this list, fans of the Hargreave children will find something to like in this hilarious sci-fi series.

This superhero TV series still has an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Both shows are ultimately about using force to protect the family, but "Supercell" is more grounded than "Umbrella Academy". At least it stays in one timeline.

"Supacell" features an ensemble cast of Tosyn Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Calvin Demba, and Josh Tedek as five black South Londoners, each with a family history of sickle cell disease, who unexpectedly super The story is about the development of powers. The show is notable for its exploration of themes such as knife crime, racial profiling, poverty, exploitation of black bodies, and sickle cell disease. While many superhero shows touch on disadvantaged topics, there is essentially no show like "Supacell."

Fans of "Umbrella Academy" will definitely appreciate the time travel element of this sci-fi show. Additionally, both Netflix shows are adaptations of comic books.

In "The Bodies," four detectives investigate a mysterious murder. However - and here's the twist - all four detectives live decades away from each other. And they are investigating four separate murders. And all four bodies turn out to be the same person. Further complicating matters is the fact that this is not the only body that has been dead for 40 years at a time. Don't miss this time travel thriller.

The cast list for "Stranger Things," which currently spans 34 episodes and is scheduled for a fifth season next year, is long enough to be an article in itself. But fans of "Umbrella Academy" and the Hargreaves' children are bound to identify with the kids from Hawkins, Indiana.

Set in this small Indiana town, things start to get ...... strange when a secret government experiment at Hawkins National Laboratory goes horribly wrong. No, it starts to get weird. The lab has been experimenting with paranormal and supernatural phenomena, sometimes with human subjects, and has inadvertently created a portal to another dimension they call "The Upside Down." Once this dimension is opened, it begins to affect the residents of Hawkins, sometimes with the worst possible consequences.
