Hisense is taking the "big screen, big capacity" mantra of its 2024 TV lineup to heart, and according to NotebookCheck, Hisense, which earlier this year introduced the shockingly bright U9N mini-LED TV, is launching a near-4K resolution display up to 150 inches wide as The company will launch a successor to the Hisense Laser TV PL1, which is capable of Moreover, it will be available in Europe at the end of this month.

Unlike conventional TVs, Hisense laser TVs are ultra-short-throw projectors. The first generation Hisense PL1 laser TV had a maximum projection size of 120 inches, so the second generation is quite a leap forward.

However, the improvements are not limited to larger screens. The new Hisense PL2 has a low projection area ratio of 0.22 (PL1 was 0.25) and can be installed at the same height as a wall. For example, an 80-inch image would require about 4.5 inches away from the wall, while a 150-inch image would require about 18 inches of space.

The peak brightness of the PL2 is 2700 lumens, higher than the PL1's 2200 lumens, and Hisense claims a laser light source life of over 25,000 hours.

Refresh rates for 2K signals have also been upgraded, and the PL2 supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and has built-in 30W speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Of course, it also supports the same Sports and Game modes as the PL2, automatically reducing latency and applying motion smoothing; thanks to the VIDAA U7 operating system, the PL2 also supports AirPlay 2 and Apple Homekit. As for ports, this display is equipped with HDMI 2.1, USB, and audio jacks.

The Hisense PL2 Laser TV will be available in the EU at the end of this month for €2,499. A U.S. release has not yet been announced, but it may be available in the next few months if Hisense follows the same procedure it used to launch the PL1.
