Pixel 9 Pro XL Hands-on Video Reveals Google's Next Flagship - Here's What It Is

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL leaks seem unstoppable.

YouTuber Andro-news is the source of a new video featuring engineering samples of the Pixel 9 Pro XL provided by Pixophone. While this means that it is not functional as it lacks the necessary firmware, it still gives a very detailed look at the body of this phone.

The new Pixel features a flat-edge design, with polished metal sides and a matte-textured glass back. It is easy to see this as an evolution of the Pixel 8 series, which had curved sides but a flat display.

Another major visual change is the "camera rubber" on the back, which is essentially the same width as the rest of the phone but now floats freely rather than being connected to rails on the sides. It also has three cameras, as before, and is believed to be the same 50MP main/48MP ultra-wide/48MP telephoto combination as last year's Pixel 8 Pro.

As for the more practical aspects of the design, Andro-news reports that Google is keeping the Pixel 9 Pro XL's buttons in the expected locations from previous Pixels. However, Google has moved the SIM tray to the bottom edge of the phone, rather than to the side as before. If you buy this phone and have trouble finding where the SIM card is located, keep this in mind.

Andro-news won't turn on the Pixel 9 Pro XL sample, so at least Google still has something to show off for the first time when it launches this phone. However, other leaks could appear there.

According to various other sources we have seen in the past few months, the Pixel 9 series will focus on AI-powered features such as Pixel Screenshots, which retrieves information from screenshots taken, and free one-year access to Gemini Advanced The Pixel 9 series will be another generation of Pixels focused on AI-powered features such as Pixel Screenshots, which captures information from screenshots taken, and free one-year access to Gemini Advanced. But there will also be hardware upgrades, including a new chipset dubbed Tensor G4, more RAM, and a brighter display.

[14] The August 13 Made by Google event is expected to be a lively one, as four Pixel flagship phones are expected to be announced: the regular Pixel 9, the smaller Pixel 9 Pro, the larger Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the flexible Pixel 9 Pro Fold It could be a lively event.
