'House of Dragons' Season 2 Finale Trailer Released - Teases Epic Final Episode

This article contains spoilers for "House of the Dragon" Season 2.

Believe it or not, "House of the Dragon" Season 2 is coming to an end. But before the series comes to an end, Max gave us a little sneak peek of what will happen in the final chapter: ...... And it looks like we are about to have a truly incredible season finale.

Now that is not a surprising statement. The final episode has already ended with a shift in the balance of power. Having secured a new dragonrider, Lenila drags Aemond out of the sky, only to see him off in the episode's final shot with a frightened Queen sandwiched between Syrax and her fellow dragons, Vermithor and Silverwing.

Following that epic climax, Max released a new trailer to hype up the upcoming season finale: check it out below.

The short clip shows the Greens confused. Christon Cole is still busy pondering the havoc the dragons will wreak on the Seven Kingdoms, while Laris Strong and Alicent seem to be challenging Aemond's leadership, and he begs Helena to embark on a dreamfire.

Meanwhile, Lenila is busy telling her allies that they need to push through the advantage they have gained, while Corliss Velarion's men are at sea and can be heard making impassioned speeches in which Damon calls on the new troops from the Riverlands to "show no mercy" to their enemies. From the developments in the teaser, it is clear which side I want to be on in this war.

All of those stories are pieced together with shots of armies marching in and out and dragons soaring through the air. In other words, we are watching the staging of a second battle.

And given the raw spectacle of everything that happened at Luc's resting place in that shocking fourth episode, I can't wait to see how the team brings the next stage of "Dance of the Dragons" to life in the "House of Dragons" season 2 finale, which hits screens this weekend. I'm looking forward to it.

"House of the Dragon" Season 2 airs this Sunday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET on Max and HBO. If you're looking for a new alternative to Sunday night viewing, check out our guide to the best Max shows available for streaming right now for more streaming recommendations.
