Google Pixel 9 reportedly steals Apple's intelligence features

With only two weeks to go until the Made by Google event and the announcement of the Pixel 9 series, we have seen many official and unofficial looks at the devices themselves, but not much has been revealed about the software that will be included in the phones

Google is going all out on AI this year, so it would not be too surprising to see new or upgraded AI features in the Pixel 9 lineup

New leaked information shared by X user Dylan Roussel (spotted by Android Police) provides some insight into a possible new AI calling feature Roussel's tweet suggests that Google will be introducing a tool called "Call Notes" It suggests that it will be introduced And it looks a lot like a feature that rival Apple has announced it will include in iOS 18, meaning the Apple Intelligence version will support multiple languages

Roussel suggests that Call Notes will offer call recording and transcription, and may also offer AI summarization capabilities

Currently, the Pixel has a Recorder app that transcribes recordings, at least since the Pixel 4 Late last year, Google enhanced the Pixel 8 Pro app by adding an update to the Gemini Nano This included a summary feature that creates summaries and bullet points for transcriptions

Since the Recorder app is already fairly robust, the question is how the Call Notes feature will be presented Will it be an extension of the Recorder app, or will it be integrated into the Phone app and be part of the live recording and transcription process?

It is possible that Google will continue to use the Gemini Nano on the device to record and transcribe call notes all on the phone, which could help with privacy issues

The only thing we are really counting on regarding the possibility of a "call notes" feature is that it may be announced in the Pixel 9 However, we don't know if it will support multiple languages like Apple does, or when it will appear

Finally, Roussel also suggests that panorama mode will be redesigned in Pixel 9, although he declined to offer insight into what that means
