Google Photos can help you recover from a breakup

In a world where storage feels cheap, our photo libraries can be filled with thousands of photos from different eras of our lives So it can be painful when certain faces show up in Google Photos' memory highlights

According to a new code breakdown from Android Authority, Google is helping people recover from bad memories by hiding certain faces in the memories feature

Google is working on a tool to hide people across the Photos app so they don't show up in the memories feed or the entire library

Android Authority's APK teardown points to a possible future update that would make it easier for Google to hide unwanted people from the Photos feed

Currently, if you want to hide someone in Google Photos, you need to find the image in your library, open the metadata for that photo, and tap the unwanted face in the "People" section This will create a library for that person Tap the Actions menu in that library and you will see an option to "Hide face from memories" You can adjust the frequency from there 9]

You can also do this by going to Photos, then Preferences, then Memories, and finally Hide People and Pets

Both processes work, but are tedious and require going back and forth

A new method found in the code is to open the photo, tap the metadata, press the action button, and tap "Hide face from memory" From there you can adjust the frequency

This method is cleaner and quicker, as it allows you to hide them all at once from a single image The same method could also be used to edit face labels and cover photos

According to Android Authority, this feature is "basically complete" However, that does not mean it will be released or that it will appear anytime soon Google will unveil the Pixel 9 series in a few weeks, so perhaps we will see more details about these photo changes then
