Top 10 Prime Video Movies - Here are 3 worth watching now

I'm looking for something new on Prime Video. Looking for something new to watch on Prime Video. However, the movies that rank high on this list are no guarantee of quality. I have seen many very skippable films earn spots in the past.

That's why I've combed through the current Prime Video Top 10 films to pick the ones most worthy of your time. However, Amazon Prime Video is currently dominated by Tom Cruise with "Top Gun" and "Mission: Impossible": "Top Gun" and "Mission: Impossible" are delighting subscribers. So if you're not a fan of this blockbuster action spectacle, you may need to look elsewhere (but don't worry, we've listed some non-Cruise options below).

This article is based on Prime Video's Top 10 Movies list as of Wednesday, July 31 at 1 p.m. ET: The Mission: Impossible series is one of the rare Hollywood enigmas. It is a franchise that has gotten better with each passing year. Instead of just churning out tired, rehashed sequels, "Mission: Impossible" keeps the stage lively: The fruitful partnership between director Christopher McQuarrie and star Tom Cruise shines brighter and brighter in "Mission: Impossible: Mission: Impossible: Dead or Alive is the latest in a series that has been going strong for nearly 30 years.

Originally billed as "Dead Reckoning Part 1," the studio has dropped that last part in recent promotional materials. This is not an unsatisfying spy epic that feels like a mere lengthy set-up for the second part, due in 2025. Instead, "Mission: Impossible: Deadly Ghosts" feels like a finished film, with hints of intriguing breadcrumbs for a sequel to be released next year. In this thrilling popcorn action film, super-spy Ethan Hunt (Cruise), along with his dependable IMF team, faces off against his most dangerous foe, a vicious AI called the Entity.

I am far from a student of Bob Marley's music, but I still have a deep appreciation and respect for the mark he left not only on the reggae scene but on the music world as a whole. I am a great admirer of Bob Marley's music and his legacy. His great legacy casts an inspirational shadow to this day: One Love celebrates the Jamaican singer-songwriter, his resilience in the face of adversity, and the challenges he faced while leading a musical revolution.

Kingsley Ben-Adil was given the task of bringing this larger-than-life character to the screen, and the British actor did a phenomenal job (even his accent is spot-on). The narrative structure is pretty standard for the biopic genre, but the listenability of Marley's music gives the film a captivating energy that keeps the toes tapping throughout. Bob Marley: One Love will delight already rabid fans and probably convert many new ones as well."

Watch "Bob Marley: One Love": The horror-comedy genre tends to be controversial, and "Lisa Frankenstein" is no exception. The directorial debut of Zelda Williams (daughter of the late, great Robin Williams), this corpse-centric caper scored a lukewarm 52% on Rotten Tomatoes' Critics' Ratings, but viewers were not only enthralled by the antics between a rebellious teenager and a Victorian-era corpse The love story was greatly enthused and received a solid score of 81%. [Lisa Frankenstein], as the title might suggest, is a modern take on the classic Mary Shelley tale, in which an angsty teen named Lisa Swallows (Kathy Newton) meets a creature (Cole Sprouse) and a murderous and embarks on a farcical adventure filled with love, parts of corpses. Full of silliness, this is not a film for everyone. It is also set in the same world as screenwriter Diablo Cody's "Jennifer's Body," a fun fact that has little to do with the film itself but hints at future crossovers.
