The movie “Land of Bad” was just released in February 2024, and while you may have missed it in theaters, the survival thriller has certainly found fans on Netflix.

On Netflix, one of the best streaming services, William Eubank's high-octane military thriller “Land of Bad” has made the top 10.

In this new thriller, a U.S. Air Force team is on a rescue mission. But when that mission goes awry, rookie Sergeant JJ Kinney (played by incoming Witcher Liam Hemsworth) is left behind enemy lines.

What follows is a harrowing and explosive journey through enemy territory where Kinney is advised only to rely on the remote guidance of drone pilot Captain Eddie Grimm “The Reaper” (Russell Crowe) to reach safety. In addition to these two stars, “Land of Bad” includes Luke Hemsworth as Sergeant Abel, Ricky Whittle as Sergeant Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia as Sergeant John “Sugar” Sweet, Chika Ikogwe as Staff Sergeant Nia Branson, Daniel McPherson as Colonel Duz Puckett, Robert Rabia as Said Hashimi, and Jack Finstaller as Victor Petrov also appear in the film.

If you're looking for an easy-to-watch action thriller, Land of Bad fits the bill. It's simple (no twists on Kinney's journey), but the big set-pieces are exciting, and Crowe and Hemsworth make fascinating leading roles. Viewers are generally more favorable. Land of Bad received a 94% viewer score from over 500 reviews. Fans have thrown around words like “underrated,” “intense,” and “action-packed,” and have described the film as predictable but highly entertaining.
