Suddenly, it seems like iPhone SE 4 rumors are popping up all over the place Yesterday, it was leaked that this budget iPhone may utilize the iPhone 16 casing, which may suggest a camera upgrade
That rumor, along with a number of other significant upgrades, seems to have been confirmed by regular phone tipster Ice Universe (seen by MacRumors)
Ice Universe posted on their Weibo account that the fourth-generation iPhone SE would feature the series' first OLED panel The tiny phone will also increase in size from the current 47-inch display to a 606-inch OLED, which should make the screen more attractive, given that OLED panels are crisper and have wider viewing angles than the LCD-based ones on current models
The iPhone SE 4 will likely have a 48MP camera, as suggested by the housing rumors This means that the new SE could have two cameras, possibly a main and an ultrawide camera Given that the current iPhone SE 3 design is based on the iPhone 8, these changes would give the SE 4 a dramatically more modern style
Allegedly, the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with the new A18 chip, which will also power the entire iPhone 16 lineup A few weeks ago, we learned from Apple code that the company plans to release at least five iPhone devices with the A18 chipset We speculate that it could be for the rumored iPhone 16 Ultra or the upcoming iPhone SE 9]
The need for an A18 chip would mean that the upcoming SE model will include new Apple Intelligence features In particular, the rumored 6GB to 8GB of RAM would be a slight upgrade from the iPhone SE's (2022) 4GB
Other rumored upgrades include moving from Lightning to USB-C ports and dropping Touch ID in favor of Face ID
So far, it appears that the SE 4 will also see a price increase, although release could be between March and May 2025 The current version starts at $429 and goes up to $579 depending on storage capacity; Ice Universe has the iPhone SE 4 priced between $499 and $529
The leak also further details some of the specs for the iPhone 17 lineup For more details, check out this breakdown
