Last week, Google preempted leaked information and officially released images of the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Oddly enough, the company has yet to officially reveal the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL. These two models are also expected to be unveiled at the Made by Google event on August 13.

Of course, beyond size, we should not expect much in the way of external differences between the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. That said, a previous TikTok leak showed off the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL and outlined some odd differences: the back of the XL version is matte, while the Pixel 9's back cover is glossy. The sides were also the exact opposite, with the XL featuring smooth, glossy sides while the Pixel 9 had matte sides.

The latest leaked images shared by GSMArena also do not clarify the situation. We can see the claimed pink color that Pixel 9 owners can choose, which is a common thread in Pixel 9 leaks. The latest leak comes from X user Sudhanshu Ambhore.

From the images, it is unclear whether the rear cover will be matte or glossy smooth.

The only thing we can confirm from the new images is that the Pixel 9 is expected to have one less camera than the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. As such, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is definitely expected to have a telephoto zoom; the difference can be seen in the images, where the Pixel 9's camera array appears thicker despite having less hardware, compared to the slimmed-down camera array on the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

This follows another leak that allegedly showed many internal specifications of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

These include 16GB or RAM in the 256GB storage capacity variant. It was also revealed that Samsung's Exynos 5400 modem is more powerful. This is reportedly faster than the 5300 modem in the Pixel 8 series.
