According to a recent leak, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim (sometimes referred to as the Ultra) may be coming sooner than originally thought.

The leak comes from well-known source IceUniverse, which reported on Weibo that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series in October. The post also mentions the Samsung W25, which is believed to be the Chinese version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim.

This is not the only information IceUniverse has on the device, the leaker also stated in a deleted Weibo post published by IT Home that the aspect ratio of the new foldable will be 19.5:9. This ratio is the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We also have some idea of the screen size, thanks to The Elec, which reported that the Fold 6 Slim will have an 8-inch internal screen and a 6.5-inch external screen.

This is not the first time we have heard of a possible release date for the Z Fold 6 Slim. Display analyst Ross Young initially said the phone would launch in the first quarter of 2025 alongside Samsung's Galaxy S25. Young also said that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will not have a digitizer and will lose the S Pen feature, but will be much slimmer than other Samsung Foldables.

One big question that needs to be answered is how much the phone will cost; there were rumors of a less expensive Galaxy Z Fold FE, as opposed to the $1,899 Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, according to reports, Samsung has scrapped this concept. Ideally, the Slim would be more affordable than the main model, but would have to sacrifice more than S Pen support.

We have two conflicting ideas about when the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will see the light of day, but a 2024 release is a bit odd given that it was not included in Galaxy Unpacked. For now, we'll have to wait for an update from Samsung regarding the release.
