According to leaks posted on social media, Samsung's One UI 7 beta program may launch earlier than expected
The leak comes courtesy of well-known source Ice Universe, which reports that the first One UI 7 beta could begin in late July or early August, barring any delays
There have been several recent leaks regarding the contents of the One UI 7 update, some of which seem to include a number of changes inspired by Apple's iOS 18 According to one such report, Samsung will include rounded icons on the home screen, a vertical app drawer, and a redesigned Gallery app, similar to Apple's There are also reports that Samsung will make changes to the home and lock screens, adding a notification display mechanism and more customization options
The big question is when can we expect a full release of One UI 7? Samsung has scheduled its next Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) for October 3, 2024 Given that the company announced One UI 6 at the last SDC, it makes sense to do the same for One UI 7
Interestingly, the hardware may also be available in October According to leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series later this year According to reports, the slim version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have larger internal and external displays than the previous model and will not feature a digitizer display layer This would make it thinner than any other Samsung Z Fold, but at the expense of S Pen support
One UI 6 was a major release with some great new features for Galaxy phones, including lock screen customization and improved camera options We can only hope that One UI 7 is just as feature-packed, and we will certainly report back on everything we discover when we test it
