Slack Announces Four Widgets for iPhone - What Do They Do?

Going down the Slack rabbit hole is all too easy So Slack users will appreciate the new iPhone widgets that the company just announced, which allow them to keep track of everything related to their work without having to open the app

Three of these widgets are for the regular home screen, while the fourth is designed for the lock screen

Two of these widgets are status widgets The larger version allows you to change your work status to one of three options directly from the home screen: a one-hour “Focus” and “Lunch” status, plus a 30-minute “Rest” option The smaller widget, on the other hand, takes you directly to the status section of the Slack app

Doing so allows you to switch between statuses: on vacation, sick, in a meeting, etc You can do all of this without first looking at the rest of the app and potentially get sucked into the drama of work when you least expect it

The last widget is the Catch Up widget, designed to quickly check the number of unread messages and Mentions This widget can also take you directly to the unread activity in the app, which is handy if you decide you can't stand to see multiple unread messages threatening you on your home screen

If you find yourself spending a lot of time in the Slack app itself, these widgets will help
