Netflix Subscription Has Hidden Benefits - 80 New Games!

Netflix is looking to expand its mobile gaming offerings by adding at least 80 games to its gaming service. The company plans to add a new title every month, starting this month.

The expansion was announced during a July 18 earnings call by co-CEO, president, and director Gregory K. Peters, as discovered by Polygon.

“We've launched over 100 games. We have seen what works and what doesn't. We are refining our program to do more of what works in the 80+ games currently in development.”

These titles will likely be based on Netflix IPs like Selling Sunset and Emily in Paris. The new games were described as interactive narrative games called Netflix Stories.

The game will be available through the Netflix app's own hub and will be arranged to engage users with Netflix-exclusive shows like “Perfect Match” and “Love is Blind.”

For those who may not know, the Netflix app has a games section where users can download from a library of games. There are many typical games that you would find in the Google Play Store or App Store, such as solitaire and many match-3 games.

And while Love is Blind's games may not be your cup of tea, the service has many excellent third-party games. They include the very nice “Death's Door” and the tactical game “Into the Breach”. Also decent is the Netflix exclusive “Dead Cells”. Mobile versions of Rockstar's GTA series are also slowly being added.

As long as you are a subscriber, the games are available for free.

To access the games, log into the Netflix app, go to your profile, and scroll down to the Games hub. Alternatively, there is a games button at the top of the app. From there you can navigate to the dedicated Games Hub and download the game to your device.

Looking at what is currently available, the first “interactive story” game on this service appears to be Too Hot To Handle 3 (based on the reality show of the same name). This can be thought of as a kind of dating sim, recreating the relationship-building moments in the show.
