Call of Duty is set for a big year, with the next installment, “Black Ops 6,” due out in late October, stepping into the limelight. However, its latest title, Modern Warfare III, is still going strong and is now available to play completely for free with Xbox Game Pass.

The launch comes on the heels of Microsoft's perfectly timed price increase for the Game Pass subscription tier. In most countries, Game Pass Ultimate will increase to $19.99 per month, while PC Game Pass will increase to $11.99 per month. Microsoft also has a “Standard” Game Pass subscription, which will not be released on day one, but will offer users multiplayer features, ideal for “Call of Duty” fans.

These price hikes will go into effect on September 12, but fingers crossed that you are one of the few users who purchased Game Pass during Prime Day; it is unclear how long “Modern Warfare III” will be in the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem, but it will not appear alone. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, due to arrive on October 25, will also join the Game Pass family. However, this is not an easy bonus for those looking to save the $70 price tag.
