According to recent reports, Apple is changing the design of the iPhone 16 series to avoid the overheating issues seen with the iPhone 15 Pro.

The original story is by The Information, which cites sources that the iPhone 16 models will have a larger graphite sheet inside the housing. This larger graphite sheet will help reduce overheating issues and is consistent with other rumors that Apple will redesign the iPhone 16 Pro Max for better thermal management.

Problems with the iPhone 15 Pro were widely reported last year, with owners reporting that their phones overheated while trying to perform the simplest of tasks. The biggest concern at the time was that there was no clear reason for the malfunction and that blame could be attributed to several factors. However, Apple eventually responded that the malfunction was due to several software-related situations, including certain third-party app updates and bugs in iOS 17.

Apple then quickly released iOS 17.0.3 to help fix the problem, which seemed to work. However, the large graphite sheet shows that Apple is working hard to avoid a recurrence of the problem, just in case.
