Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Display Specs Leaked - Some Big Upgrades Ahead

Major changes are coming to the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, especially to its twin displays, according to new information provided by leaker Kamila Wojciechowska and Android Authority.

The most notable of these changes is the size of both the inner and outer screens; Wojciechowska tells us that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature an 8-inch inner display and a 6.24-inch outer display. 5.8-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display, compare this to last year's Pixel Fold, which had a 5.8-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display.

The increased size, along with the changed resolution (see table below for exact numbers), marks the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's move from a shorter, wider design to a square design. This makes Google's foldable resemble other devices listed in our Best Foldable Phones guide, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open.

Both Pixel 9 Pro Fold screens stick to the same 120Hz peak refresh rate we saw on the Pixel Fold. However, the outer display on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is more pixel dense than the older model as a result of the resizing, while the inner display is lower.

Google has also given the Pixel 9 Pro Fold a higher brightness rating; it appears that Actua display technology, which debuted on the Pixel 8 series, may be coming to the foldable for the first time this year.

While the actual launch of the Pixel 9 series seems like a needless formality given how many of these models have been leaked, the August 13 Made by Google event has been confirmed as the date to officially introduce the new Pixel. For those looking for information on these new models, we have a hub on the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the non-folding Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
