Google Gemini Major Upgrade - Free Chatbot Now with Fast 1.5 Flash

Google is officially upgrading Gemini to the 1.5 Flash AI model. It will be able to process prompts more quickly and process more content in the same amount of time.

Google said in a blog post that it will roll out 1.5 Flash to the free web and mobile versions of Gemini starting today.

Amar Subramanya, Google's vice president of engineering for Gemini Experiences, said the company is “upgrading the free version of Experiences to Gemini 1.5 Flash.”

The new 1.5 Flash model is being rolled out in over 40 languages and 230 countries and regions.

In other Gemini news, Google said it will gradually roll out Google Messages' AI capabilities to users in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland.

Google also revealed that it will begin showing links to relevant content for fact-finding prompts in Gemini. Subramanya explained in a blog post, “If a Gemini response references information found using the Gmail extension, it will also show an inline link to the relevant email.”

Finally, Google said it will expand access to Gemini to teenagers around the world in more than 40 languages within the next week. This will help them better understand school subjects, prepare for college, and get help with creative projects.
