Streaming is the right word, as the last weekend in July brings more new movies and shows to watch on Netflix, Peacock, and other top streaming services.

The biggest thing airing this weekend is, of course, the 2024 Paris Olympics, which opens with the opening ceremony and runs through August 11. Several new TV series will also air, including the fantasy adventure “Time Bandits” and the historical comedy “The Decameron.”

In film, the British mystery “Wicked Little Letters,” starring Olivia Colman, will be released. Highlights this weekend include.

Taylor Swift's immortal line, “Baby, let the games begin,” which was first held in Paris in 1900 and 1924, and will be held for the third time this year. (The surfing will be held in Tahiti, on the other side of the world, but the largest and most high-profile competition will take place in this “city of love.

The opening ceremony's Parade of Nations will be a boat parade along the Seine River. Team USA fans look forward to seeing basketball legend LeBron James and tennis player Coco Gauff carrying the American flag.

Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Ian Morris are the masterminds behind the small screen adaptation of Terry Gilliam's cult classic film Terry Gilliam's cult classic for the small screen. This fantasy adventure tells the story of a ragtag gang of thieves led by Penelope (Lisa Kudrow) and their new recruit, 11-year-old history buff Kevin (Kal-El Tuck).

As the thieves travel through time and space in search of treasure, luckily Kevin's knowledge comes in handy as he actually sees a Trojan horse, escapes prehistoric dinosaurs, and wreaks havoc in medieval times. They also embark on a journey to save Kevin's parents and the world.

“Bridgerton” set the trend for historical comedies set in ancient times with its modern needle drop and anachronistic language. “Decameron” joins the genre alongside its Netflix siblings, Prime Video's ‘My Lady Jane,’ Apple's ‘The Buccaneers’ and ”Dickinson.”

The new series is based on a collection of short stories by 14th-century Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio about people trying to survive a pandemic. When the Black Death strikes Florence, nobles and servants flee to country mansions to enjoy wine-soaked sex. But soon, the bacchanalia turns into an all-out battle for survival.

This teen murder mystery drama concludes with the eighth and final chapter, which chronicles the great reformation of Las Encinas. Siblings Emilia (Ane Lot) and Ector Kravietz (Nuno Gallego), leaders of the Las Encinas Alumni Association, arrive on the scene, spreading chaos and destroying the lives of those around them. Only Omar (Omar Ayuso) can stand up to them, and he is willing to do anything to see them fall.

Queen of the screen Olivia Colman stars in this disturbing mystery/comedy based on a true story that is stranger than fiction. Edith Swan (Colman) is a conservative single woman in a small seaside town whose neighbor is a rowdy Irish immigrant named Rose Gooding (Jesse Buckley). Edith and other residents begin to receive anonymous letters written in vulgar language, leading them to suspect Rose and have her arrested.

The case becomes a national uproar and attracts government and media attention. When police officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) begins investigating the case, she realizes something is wrong and that Rose is not the killer after all.
