New on Netflix: 5 Movies and Shows to Watch This Week (July 29-August 4)

The TV shows and movies coming to Netflix this week are not all big names. This week, however, two movies directed by Zack Snyder will be available.

That's right, the “Justice League” director is back, bringing two new director's cuts to Netflix this week. This time, however, they are not any of his DC “Snyderverse” films. Instead, it's the Netflix original sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon. Both “Rebel Moon - Part One: Director's Cut” and “Rebel Moon - Part Two: Director's Cut” will hit the streaming service this Friday, August 2.

More to watch. There's plenty more, so here's a daily roundup of this week's new arrivals on Netflix. Also, be sure to check out our top list of new shows available on all major streaming services. [A Good Girl's Guide to Murder] began airing on BBC Three on July 1, so if you live in the UK, you may have already seen it, but for the rest of the world, this week is the first time you can watch this adaptation of Holly Jackson's popular novel of the same name. Thursday will be the first time. Perhaps it's worth noting that early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have been generally positive.

This six-episode murder mystery stars Emma Myers as Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi. Five years after the murder of a 17-year-old schoolgirl in an idyllic English town, Pip is not satisfied with the way the investigation is going and believes there is more to reveal. She embarks on a school project to uncover the truth and find the real killer. Will she be successful? Watch “An Introduction to Murder for Good Girls” to find out.

The only problem. John is reluctant to give up his job as a flutist to work for the biotech company. But in Season 2, he may not have a choice. Ellis sets up a series of challenges and psychological warfare to determine whether Jackson is the right person to replace him, but in the process, another candidate for the dragon to succeed Ellis emerges.

This Friday, Netflix will release “Rebel Moon - Part 1: Director's Cut” (subtitled “Blood Chalice”), turning the original film into “a bigger, bloodier cut.” A director's cut of “Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver” will also be released (subtitled “Curse of Forgiveness”).
