iOS 17.6 Released - Here's What's New for iPhone

iOS 18 may be just around the corner, but it appears that Apple has another update for iOS 17 called iOS 17.6 in the works.

The news was originally reported by 9to5Mac, which stated that a source reported that Apple dropped iOS 17.5.2 for iOS 17.6.

We now know that the app will include a new catch-up feature for users who purchased Major League Soccer season passes. This feature will allow viewers to catch up on games by providing a series of highlights for latecomers.

While it is impossible to speculate on other features that will be included in the new update, the renaming to iOS 17.6 indicates that there may be more than bug fixes and Catch Up.

For now, we will have to wait until release to see what changes Apple has in store, but hopefully the photo bug seen in iOS 17.5 will not be repeated.

We may not know much about the features, but each software release comes with some new bugs and security fixes. While many still believe that Apple is more secure than other developers, it is important to upgrade as soon as possible because there is an increasing amount of malicious software out there targeting Apple users.

iOS 17.6 may not be the biggest update in the world, but it is more of a placeholder to wait for iOS 18. announced at the WWDC presentation, Apple's next update will include several improvements to SIRI and a fully customizable bringing several new features to the phone, including a home screen.

You can currently download the public beta to try out the latest features, but be aware that some of the new features will not be released at launch. iOS 17.6 will be updated as soon as we know the exact release date and a complete breakdown of all new features.

In the meantime, you can see everything coming for Apple by checking out our 2024 WWDC show breakdown and breakdown of all the new features announced for iOS 18.
