Netflix will offer 13 AMC shows, including a spin-off of “The Walking Dead” and a hit vampire adaptation.

Netflix, one of the most powerful streaming services, is adding to its library with an exciting new lineup from AMC According to Variety, AMC has signed a deal to add “The Walking Dead” spin-off and the hit vampire movie “Interview with the Vampire,” and has signed a deal to add 13 shows to its Netflix catalog, including the first season of “Interview with the Vampire.

The strategic move is intended to further enhance Netflix's content offerings while giving subscribers access to some of AMC's most compelling series; AMC has 11.5 million subscribers, while Netflix has 266,. 9.6 million, and by tapping into Netflix's vast audience, AMC hopes to bring more attention to critically acclaimed but underseen programming. [Christine Dolan, CEO of AMC Networks, said: “This agreement will put high-quality programming with the AMC brand clearly represented in front of a huge audience of Netflix subscribers. These curated titles will also be strategically aired on our direct-to-consumer and partner platforms to drive interest in our current and upcoming seasons.

Dolan also expressed how the deal could increase viewership: “This significant expansion of our relationship with Netflix will drive viewership and engagement on Netflix, as well as AMC brands and partners across AMC's distribution ecosystem. We are confident that it will increase awareness and interest in our award-winning content on the platform.

Shows appearing on Netflix U.S. will be “AMC branded,” but it is unclear what that means. It is possible that streamers will have a section completely dedicated to AMC to make it easier for users to find shows.

A total of 13 shows will be available on Netflix for a year beginning August 19. However, most of these shows will not be complete seasons, as AMC hopes to encourage viewers to subscribe to the platform for continued viewing. They can be considered samplers to whet one's appetite.

Shows include:

Another surprise: starting January 13, 2025, Netflix will debut two more series. The Walking Dead: Dead City's first season and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

The deal is part of a larger plan for AMC. The cable network company tried a similar plan in 2023 by temporarily moving “Fear the Walking Dead” and six other series to Max for two months. This turned out to be the right move, as more viewers could be directed to AMC's platform.

Subscribers now look forward to exploring this rich (and very impressive) collection of AMC content. Whether you are a rabid “Walking Dead” fan like myself or just want to watch a new series in the coming months, there is something for everyone in this exciting new addition to Netflix's ever-expanding library.
