As a general rule of thumb, if you want an iPhone in a playful color, you need to avoid the Pro model or get the best case for your chosen model. iPhone 15 is available in pink, yellow, and green, while the Pro model is available in metallic, black, and white, more subdued shades.

These are usually accompanied by one coloring that is a bit more exotic: “Blue Titanium” for the iPhone 15 Pro and “Deep Purple” (pictured above) for the iPhone 14 Pro. According to a new supply chain leak from Chinese social network Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will be in that shade “Rose.”

Baby Sauce, the leaker in question, clarifies that this is not a return to “rose gold” - a finish that was all the rage in the mid-2010s and was used on the iPhone 6S. This finish appears to replace the Blue Titanium finish in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.

This information echoes the opinion of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicted in May that the next Pro iPhone would come in rose shade.

Of course, “rose” covers all shades, from fairly deep reds to mild pinks. Given past releases, we expect this interpretation to be a subtle shade, quite a far cry from the candy-like pink currently available on the iPhone 15, but we'll have to see.

The anticipated release date for the iPhone 16 is ticking closer and closer. For over a decade now, Apple has been releasing numbered iPhones in September (with the exception of the Covid postponed October event for the iPhone 12), so we fully expect the same thing again.

The upgrades we are expecting this year include the introduction of the A18 chipset, models starting with 256GB of storage, and a new Capture button for quick photo and video capture.

The Pro models are expected to be slightly larger this year, with 6.3“ and 6.9” screens, respectively, but instead of a significantly larger footprint, the bezels are expected to shrink significantly. The smaller Pro model is expected to inherit the 5x optical zoom from last year's Pro Max, and both are rumored to feature 48MP ultra-wide angle lenses.
