Not a typo! Google Pixel 7a drops to $199 at Best Buy

Amazon Prime Day has ended, but there are still great deals out there for those looking to save money and get their next smartphone. One of the best ones I've seen comes from Best Buy, which has a great deal running for the Google Pixel 7a.

Right now, you can get the Google Pixel 7a 5G 128GB Unlocked for $199 at Best Buy. This is a significant discount from the original price of $499, and it completely trumps the refurbished Pixel 7a offered on Amazon for $296. However, the deal requires the device to be connected to either Verizon or AT&T, which may be a disadvantage for some.

The Pixel 7a may not be on the minds of many users, especially now that the Google Pixel 8a has been released. But this campaign may be enough to convince people that now is a great time to get one. when we reviewed the Pixel 7a, we praised the improved refresh rate and the bright screen that Google previously took issue with. it's not as big an improvement as the Pixel 8 Pro but it's great at this price point.

Another advantage is that the Google Pixel 7a has a 64MP main camera, which is even better than the Pixel 7. In our tests, it produced great images, albeit slightly darker than some might prefer; compared to the OnePlus 12R, the Pixel 7a definitely has better camera output than its competitors, and it is not far behind the recent Pixel 8a.

The Pixel 7a is not perfect, and the Tensor G2 is not a very powerful chip compared to more current phones, but it is a marked improvement over many same-generation phones. It is also not the most durable device on the market at this time and will require a case. At this price, however, it would be hard to offer more than this affordable smartphone.

If you want a smartphone with a little more power, we've put together the rest of our Prime Day smartphone deals.
