Apple TV stole my favorite YouTube TV feature

Apple TV is starting to make a habit of stealing my favorite YouTube TV feature

Catch-up is a feature that some Apple TV users have had access to in beta since late June This feature is basically the same as YouTube TV's Catch Up, which is my favorite feature for watching sports and a big reason why I love YouTube TV The app generates a playlist of important plays (highlights) that you can watch to get up to speed on live sporting events

But now everyone will be able to try out this feature When iOS/iPad OS/tvOS 176 is released later this month and this feature exits beta, it will be available to everyone on all platforms, including third-party TVs, streaming devices, and gaming consoles (The catch-up beta was limited to Apple devices)

Now, there are a few caveats First, you must have an MLS Season Pass to take advantage of this feature on a regular basis At this time, Catch Up has not yet expanded to other Apple TV sports offerings like MLB Friday Night Baseball

As noted above, this is not the first time Apple has stolen one of my favorite YouTube TV features; in 2023, Apple added Multi-View, which allows users to watch up to four games at the same time, to the MLS Season Pass Earlier this year, it expanded access to Multiview to the Apple TV iPad app as well

Fortunately for YouTube TV, they still offer far more sports than Apple TV However, if Apple TV continues to do so, it could become an essential streaming service for sports fans

If you want to check out Apple TV's sports features or are an avid soccer fan, you can get an MLS season pass for 50% off This will give you access to all remaining MLS games this season and all MLS Cup Playoff games It also gives you access to all League Cup games beginning July 26

This discount means that if you already have an Apple TV Plus, you can get the MLS Season Pass for $1299 per month or $39 for the rest of the season at a reduced rate; if you do not have Apple TV Plus, you can access it for $1499 per month until the season ends or access for $49
