This week's lineup features the debut of two new series: the fantasy time-travel adventure “Time Bandits” and the historical comedy “The Decameron. Thanks to The CW, which saved the show from being canceled by AMC, the legal drama will air its second and final season. The story follows attorney Franklin Roberts (Courtney B. Vance) as he continues to defend Moses Johnson (Tosin Cole), a promising black high school athlete. Franklin seeks not only to prove Moses' innocence, but also to expose the rampant corruption and institutional racism found in Chicago's criminal justice system.

Terry Gilliam's cult classic comes to the screen in an adaptation by Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Iain Morris. This fantasy adventure follows a ragtag gang of thieves led by Penelope (Lisa Kudrow) and their newest recruit, 11-year-old history buff Kevin (Kal-El Tuck). Kevin's knowledge comes in handy in a variety of situations, including witnessing the creation of Stonehenge, seeing the Trojan Horse in action, escaping prehistoric dinosaurs, and wreaking havoc in the Middle Ages. To save Kevin's parents and the world, they embark on a thrilling adventure.

The continued success of “Bridgeman” has paved the way for other historical comedies set in older times but incorporating modern needle drops and anachronistic language and behavior. The Decameron joins the genre alongside its Netflix sibling, Prime Video's My Lady Jane, and Apple's The Buccaneers and Dickinson, based on a collection of short stories by 14th century Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio. A group of people try to survive a pandemic, but the year is 1348, not 2020. The Black Death strikes Florence, and the nobility and their servants flee to a country mansion to enjoy wine-soaked sex. But soon the feast turns into an all-out battle for survival.

Premieres Thursday, July 25 at 3 a.m. ET on Netflix
