The emotions personified in Pixar's Inside Out, released in 2015, are back. Joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust take the helm in the mind of Riley, a 13-year-old girl heading to high school for the first time.

Now a little older, the "puberty alarm" has officially sounded, and four new emotions arrive unexpectedly to further disrupt her situation: anxiety, embarrassment, envy, and ennui. In this adventure, these new emotions jostle for control of Riley's life.

Since its debut, "Inside Out 2" has broken box office records, becoming Pixar's second-largest opening in domestic animation history with $154.2 million and the largest opening worldwide for an animated film with $295 million.

Needless to say, demand to see the film is high and people are likely to spend a significant amount of time in theaters. With that in mind, moviegoers who can't make it out to the big screen are probably wondering when they will be able to see this colorful adventure on the small screen. Fortunately, "Inside Out 2" will eventually be available for streaming at home. Here's what we know about when it will be available for streaming on Disney Plus.

It's going to be a while before "Inside Out 2" finishes its theatrical run; it just opened nationwide on June 14 and is still in its early stages. There's no need to wait an exorbitant amount of time until you can watch it from the comfort of your own couch, but if the release schedule is the same as other Pixar films until then, you'll still need to be patient.

When "Inside Out 2" hits streaming platforms, it will be available on Disney Plus. Unfortunately, no specific date has been announced.

However, one can refer to previous films to get an idea of when it will be available. For example, "Elemental" spent considerable time in theaters and was registered on Disney Plus approximately 89 days after its debut in September 2023. Before that, "Lightyear" reached Disney Plus only 47 days after its theatrical release in August 2022.

However, "Inside Out 2" has experienced greater theatrical success than these two films. Like "Barbie" before its transition to streaming, it will likely take a significant period of time to finish its theatrical run. According to Pixar's Pete Docter, the film's theatrical run is 100 days. With these guidelines in mind, it is likely that "Inside Out 2" will not be released on Disney Plus until September or October 2024.
