Early rumors about the Google Pixel Watch 3 made the next-generation Google smartwatch seem like an iterative update However, a new report from Android Authority points to a much more significant upgrade than previously suspected

The report seems to confirm that the Pixel Watch 3 will be offered in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm This is similar to what rivals Samsung and Apple offer in their watch lines A larger model might be called the Pixel Watch 3 XL, with LTE and Wi-fi/Bluetooth-only versions

The processor may remain unchanged, and the Pixel Watch 3 will feature the same Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip as the Watch 2 The standard 41mm size will have the same 310 mAh battery, while the 45mm size will have a 420 mAh battery

Most of this is information we already knew What's new is in regards to the display and what we desperately want from Google's next Pixel Watch

According to reports, the Pixel Watch 3 will eventually reduce the size of the bezel

The Pixel Watch 2 had a bezel width of 55mm Both sizes of the new Watch will have a reduced bezel width of 45 mm while not as small as the Apple Watch 9 or the new Galaxy Watch 7, it is still a significant upgrade according to images shared by Android Authority, the difference is more noticeable in the larger XL size and seems to be more pronounced in the XL size This bumps the display sizes of the two sizes up to 12" and 14"

With larger displays and smaller bezels, Google also seems to have made the displays brighter It supports up to 2,000 nits, a 100% upgrade from the Pixel Watch 2, which only reached 1,000

Google seems to be leaning toward adding ultra-wideband support to upcoming devices, including a new "Find My Device" tracker Recent FCC listings featuring the Pixel Watch 3 indicate that the watch will support UWB, NFC and hinted that it would get multi-Wi-Fi coverage

UWB could allow the Pixel Watch to unlock your car if you own a BMW, Hyundai, or Kia

The Android Authority report also claims a list of four new color schemes The standard 41mm size will be available in a silver case with a rose quartz band, a black case with an obsidian band, a gold case with a hazel band, and a silver case with a porcelain band This is almost identical to the Pixel Watch 2

The larger Pixel Watch 3 XL is said to have a hazel case with a hazel band, a black case with an obsidian band, and a silver case with a porcelain band

Google plans to unveil the Pixel Watch 3 for the first time next month on August 13 at Made by Google, where the Pixel 9 smartphone series will also be announced
