Since its debut on Netflix in June, "Supacell" has been a mainstay series that has maintained near the top of Netflix's Top 10 shows list. The series follows a group of seemingly unconnected black people in South London who suddenly acquire superpowers, and one of the group desperately tries to bring them together to confront an impending threat.

"Supacell" debuted with an impressive 100% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes (a score it still holds today), and was praised for its characters and its use of a fantastical framework to tell a culture-specific story that is absolutely grounded in reality. It was especially praised for.

If you are looking for another psychic show and want to change the tone from "Supacell," then "Extraordinary" is for you.

Both series are about everyday Londoners who develop psychic powers, but "Extraordinary" is a complete comedy and well worth a watch. Here, we follow Jen (Máiréad Tyers), a 20-something Londoner who struggles with the ups and downs of everyday life, the only adult around her who has yet to acquire powers. [In a world where everyone has the ability (literally) to fly, shapeshift, communicate with the dead, use psychic powers, and manipulate technology, Jen struggles to bring her powers to the surface and just deal with being an ordinary person.

NBC's "Heroes" is a "Supacell" without the intense focus on South London. The show originally aired from 2006-2010 (with a spin-off in 2015) and follows ordinary people who begin to discover that they have special abilities and how these emerging powers affect the lives of their wielders.

Just as Michael was pushed to attract other friends in "Supacell," "Heroes" inevitably draws in the good guys, who confront powerful enemies and world-ending threats in classic comic book fashion.

"Supacell" feels like it owes a lot to the 2000s British comedy-drama "Misfits." Suddenly, a freak storm hits their town and their lives are transformed.

Eventually, the gang realizes that each of them has been given the power to reveal their insecurities. And while they are busy confronting the challenges of everyday teenage life, they are also dealing with other psychic threats that have emerged throughout the town.

"Umbrella Academy" is larger in scale than the "Supercell" films we've seen, but this mind-bending Netflix series is a worthy follow-up to Rapman's creation.

Based on a comic book by Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance fame), the series follows a group of children born at the same time on a fateful day, each of whom possesses some sort of magical power. The children are then adopted by a billionaire and become a team of superheroes to fight crime. Eventually, they thwart apocalyptic events and deal with time-travel shenanigans too complex to detail here.

Those who enjoy more of a crime drama vibe and can forgo the problems caused by superpowers may want to check out "Top Boy."

The series is set in an east London apartment complex and deals with street crime, drug dealing, gang violence, and other issues similar to those involving Taser, the character in Supercell. It is a gripping and tense gangster thriller that revolves around the duo of Dushane (Ashley Walters) and Sally (Kane "Cano" Robinson).
